Abuse – Case Story

Session 9: Therapist felt anxious before patient arrival. He had a vague sense of anticipatory anxiety about the influence he may be generating within the patients Mind. All he was aware is part of her Conscious Mind and its Contents. What he was not aware is her Mind’s Life in the Subconscious (which patient could be more aware and in control) and more so her own Unconscious layers (which patient and the therapist could both be clueless).! Therapist mused, ‘Why is Life and Relation’s not Simpler.? Wish I had a God particle within, which could miraculously wipe away all pain, all struggles, all methods, all processes, all phases and all distortions and distances of Perceptions.’ As the Therapist looked at the Timer ( minute more to go before patient enters the Treatment Room), he wanted to compose his Thoughts and be ready to receive his patients thoughts and perceptions. Instead, he felt more aware of his Heartbeats. He squirmed a bit on his chair and fiddled with the pen and writing pad on the desk.

Just as a thought flashed on his Mind-Screen, “If I swipe away everything, what is the point of Experiences.! Where is your Value as an Individual.?” Patient knocked and he got up to open the door. Therapist was composed as he had his Inflection point.

Patient seemed composed, dressed immaculately well in a Summer dress.. “I visited my mother this week. We spent some time together. Mother seemed to be doing well. I asked her about her memories from my childhood. She was happy about seeing me grow as a cheerful girl. When I asked about the other part, she avoided the conversation and went blank.”

Therapist redirected her thoughts, “the other part..!” Patient continued,”I was in this School on Summer vacation, about 15 may be. A bunch of boys told me a teacher was waiting in one of the classrooms. As I went there, a boy from my school molested me, attacked me sexually.” As patient paused, Therapist interjected, “Did you share this painful incident with anyone?” Patient said, “No one would believe. A few days later, the boy spread this to everyone in school. It broke me. I never felt the same in School and the School never felt the same as before.”

Therapist felt a Empathetic gloom on his Mind and took a walk of Solidarity with the Patient, to the Exit of The Treatment Room.
