What is Substance Abuse Disorder?
Substance Abuse Disorder is a condition where a person exhibits an uncontrolled use of legal/ illegal drugs, medication or toxic substances. This can start with experimental consumption of the substance in social situations or for recreation and lead to becoming frequent and further uncontrolled. Substance Addiction results in :
- Behavioral Issues – problems at school and work, intense urges leading to stealing and doing risky activities to get access to the substance
- Physical/Biological issues – aches and pains, dry mouth, red eyes, slurred speech
- Mind State Issues – Paranoia, Hallucinations, Anxiety
How can we help?
At Psychesoft, your therapist will use a combination of detox/withdrawal treatment and behavior therapy. For some people, Detox or withdrawal treatment may be recommended at a hospital or rehab center. With behavior therapy, your counselor can help you cope with drug cravings, talk about underlying emotional concerns and determine an ongoing treatment plan to consolidate abstinence.

- Behavioral therapy to consolidate the abstinence period and address stimulus-response association
